North Dakota Identity
Graphic Design Thesis
My year-long thesis project centered on a desire to understand the processes that lead to designing a successful place identity and the ways in which they manifest. These works of design are particularly important because they affect the sense of community and belonging in that place. While a successful place identity will draw others to that location, its primary audience should always be the people who live there.
Poster Series
Using what I learned through research and interviews, I created my own identity for the state of North Dakota. The reason I chose North Dakota was because it was an objective study for me as I had no personal connection to it and because it is a state that often goes unnoticed.

A lot of people know North Dakota for its wheat, but did you know they also have a lot of bees? So much in fact, they export bees to other states for agriculture.
